The overall attire of this Lenovo Legion monitor somewhat showcases a sleek look except the wing-shaped stand makes it look broad. The three side and top bezels of the display are kept vividly thinner, but the lower bezel has a thicker base. Mostly built with plastic, the Legion makes it obvious it is not very fancy instead sturdy. You can take the risk of falling it off and not worry about any accidental damages or drops.

The very best part of the Legion monitor design is its ergonomic stand that allows you to rotate, pivot and tilt it easily. You can easily make height adjustments and swivel the monitor just as you require. It is indeed also very good for  and business environment, plus you can place it on VESA mount.

Ports, No Speakers

Being a G-Sync monitor, the Lenovo Legion Y27q has good ports which you might not get in standard monitor PCs. There are four USB 3.0 ports adjusted on the back side of the monitor along with the 3.5 mm jack. While you will also find a slot for Display port and HDMI 2.0 so you can easily connect external monitors or peripherals. We don’t get any built-in speakers in this Lenovo monitor, which might not be an issue for many of the users. However, if you were expecting this monitor to have speakers, you will have to get your hands on the independent ones.

Performance – Speed and Quality

The refresh rate of 165Hz, and a WQHD Resolution of 2560 x 1440 included in the Lenovo Legion Y27 sets it on a top-notch standard. On benchmark testing, the monitor delivers good scores for fps  and overall speed. The 27-inch IPS panel that this monitor has goes very well for  apps, graphic activities and watching movies. You will witness wide viewing angles with IPS technology and aspect ratio.

In the contrast ratio, the monitor settles at 1000:1 which is fine but not the greatest for real advanced . The backlight of the monitors stays around 350 cd/m at most and the sRGB colour comes out as 100%. There are no HDR capabilities that you will find in this monitor which was a bit disappointing in comparison to other monitors which have HDR 400. There is NVIDIA G-Sync technology included in this monitor, but instead you will observe it to be more of a FreeSync monitor. In an overview, this helps it to reduce visual tearing, lessen motion blurs and enhance smooth  visuals.

Verdict

We liked the Lenovo Legion Y27q for its competitive and great accuracy in colour contrasts. To say it is one of the best choices available in the market won’t be wrong owing to its compatible specs’ combination. Also, the sophisticated and elegant design makes up for its looks and presence with blue accents and black body.
